This company, a National player in the Engineering and Maintenance world, require a Quality Inspector to be based at their prestigious client site in Hull. An outstanding opportunity to become part of a leading Engineering and Maintenance provider and play an integral role in the Quality Department.

Salary: £60,000 plus excellent benefits

Location: Hull

Hours of work: 37.5 hour working week

Responsibilities:

  • Review Quality Plans, FUD’s Inspection and Test Plans and supporting QA & NDT documentation
  • Interpretation of the intent and ensuring the requirements of codes, standards and specifications are met.
  • Liaise with QA Manager, QC-Lead and Project Leads in relation to submission of documentation and QA requirements for projects / maintenance
  • Ensuring WPS conformity (Making sure that the WPS is correct to the material type, thickness and diameter)
  • Weld fit up inspection and visual inspection of welds and material
  • Welder Qualification (Ensuring that the welder is qualified to perform the weld and ensuring prolongation)
  • Cleanliness inspection (Ensuring the weld area is free from debris)
  • Material Traceability (Ensuring that heat codes are correctly monitored and transferred)
  • Calibration control (Ensuring that any machinery, gauges, measuring equipment are calibrated and in date)
  • Line walks/ Construction Inspection (Ensuring that the installation matches the isometric/drawing all markings are visible)
  • Ensure all quality documentation/records are maintained within the Company’s Combined Management System (CMS)

The successful candidate:

  • CSWIP Level 3.1 Welding Inspector or 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector
  • Nuclear background desirable
  • PCN level 2 – Radiographic Interpretation
  • Recognised Internal Auditor qualification
  • ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering/BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent experience
