Location: Filton, Bristol (60% onsite – flexibility required depending on project needs)

Hourly Rate:

  • £33.64 per hour (PAYE)
  • Working Pattern: 35 hours per week (overtime paid at standard rate)
  • IR35: Inside IR35

The Role

An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lab Test Means Project Manager to support a major engineering and test programme within the aerospace sector. You will play a key role in delivering the infrastructure required for the construction, commissioning and operation of a Hydrogen Test Facility, alongside multiple test benches supporting a fuel systems test programme.

The role sits within a large, multi‑national engineering and test environment and requires strong stakeholder engagement across UK and European sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for time, cost and quality delivery of assigned projects
  • Definition and ownership of Statements of Work
  • Establishing and managing project governance and structure
  • Driving project execution using agreed KPIs and metrics
  • Active management of risks and opportunities
  • Reporting progress and status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement

Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong background in Project / Programme Management (PMI qualification desirable)
  • Engineering background with strong technical understanding
  • Experience delivering engineering or test infrastructure projects
  • Confident stakeholder management at all levels, including suppliers and customers
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, complex environment
  • Experience working within transnational / multi‑site teams
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of professional agility

This role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a hands‑on engineering mindset and a track record of delivering complex test or infrastructure programmes in aerospace or engineering environments.
