Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced BMS Service Engineer to support planned and reactive maintenance works across commercial and industrial sites based in the Oxford/Luton area.

£27 per hour via PAYE

CONTRACT

Contract 3 Months with potential for a permanent opportunity

HOURS

40 Hours per Week (Monday to Friday, flexible hours)

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced BMS Service Engineer to carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS).

The successful candidate will work across a range of commercial and industrial sites, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a temporary role with the potential to secure a permanent position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults on BMS and HVAC control systems.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission BMS controllers, sensors, actuators, and associated equipment.
  • Work on Trend, Tridium (Niagara), Distech, Siemens, and other BMS platforms.
  • Attend reactive breakdowns and participate in an on-call rota.
  • Perform software updates, minor programming modifications, and system optimisation.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend energy-saving or remedial improvements.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals for remedial or improvement works.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS/BEMS) and HVAC controls.
  • Strong knowledge of Trend, Tridium (Niagara), Distech, and Siemens BMS platforms.
  • Experience carrying out PPM, fault finding, servicing, and commissioning of BMS systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults within electrical control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems and building services.
  • Basic knowledge of IT networks.
  • Good working knowledge of Auto CAD.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain or pass a DBS check.
  • Willingness to travel across the surrounding regions and participate in an on-call rota.
