The predicted salary is between 17 - 27 £ per hour.

2 positions available in Bury St Edmunds, IP32 7BB. 6 Month contract position - Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.30pm. This will lead to other work.

The company is a UK leading, multi-disciplined engineering firm specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The range of work includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services, and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanical fitter to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting a process pipework and plant maintenance project in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Duties

  • Carry out planned preventive mechanical maintenance around a large industrial food processing facility, specifically replacing pipework and repairing damaged plant including CHP units.
  • Install large diameter flanged and smaller process pipework.
  • Remove, repair and replace bearings, rollers, motors, valve sets and pumps.
  • Install secondary steel work, walkways, gantries, machine guards, supports and brackets.
  • Install various ad-hoc fittings and assemblies as necessary and as required by the site engineering team.

About You

  • Based ideally in Bury St Edmunds, you will need to live within a commutable distance of IP32 7BB. No accommodation or travel costs are payable on this project.
  • Demonstrable experience of pipe fitting and mechanical fitting within a heavy industrial environment with a good understanding of rollers, bearings, motors and pumps is essential.
  • Experience of Combined Heat and Power Units would be an advantage.
  • CSCS or CCNSG Card is preferred.
