Role: Interface Manager

Sector: Offshore Wind (EU Project)

Location: Hybrid - Glasgow every other week (Infrequent attendance for meetings)

Working Pattern: 2-3 Days Per Week (Part-Time)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Initial 6-Months + Possible Extensions

Rates: £650 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK

Responsibilities:

  • The primary accountability for this post is to support the Project in the management and delivery of high quality, safe, robust interface management solution for an Offshore Wind Farm in the Netherlands in development phase.
  • Responsibility for developing and maintaining a project specific interface management plan.
  • Implement and coordinate an interface management monitoring process.
  • Supporting the package teams to identify technical interfaces within the project, ensuring these are captured in the interface register and managed throughout the project life cycle.
  • Responsible for quality control aspects of interface management and ensuring that interface management is compliant with project quality management systems and Large Capital Projects Governance requirements.
  • Production and oversight of the combined Project Scope of Work matrix and gap analysis with regular review cycles with the Senior Project Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring requirements of the Interface Management Plan are implemented and Package interface coordinators are engaging with each other and interfacing contractors.
  • Responsible for alignment of interface register with the risk register to identify relevant actions and instigate and manage systematic follow up with relevant stakeholders, where required to mitigate interface risks and ensure interfaces are managed in line with agreed project programme.
  • Engagement with package teams and contractors to ensure interfaces are being managed, risks tracked and mitigated and actions progressed.
  • Input into identifying project risks in compliance with the project risk management process.
  • Lead the planning of Rehearsal of Concept (ROC_ Drills / Readiness Reviews to ensure that exercises are undertaken in advance of construction works beginning.
  • Responsible for defining the Project Transfer of Custody Procedure, engaging with all Packages and relevant stakeholders.

Business Knowledge:

  • Substantial knowledge of Offshore Wind Projects
  • Knowledge of client LCP Governance systems and procedures
  • Substantial knowledge of interface management processes
  • Substantial knowledge of Project Risk Management
  • Experience of managing technical processes within development projects
  • Substantial knowledge of Project Contracting Strategies
  • Understanding of how Project WBS and Scope of Works matrix can be used to identify scope owners and points of interface between contractor organisations

Essential Functional & Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrates good project management expertise and understanding of major projects delivery especially interface management strategy and planning, cost, risk, quality and commercial management
  • Ability to challenge project teams and key stakeholders to ensure robust project performance
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation and to key stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly present key messages at senior levels, externally and internally
