The Role

We are seeking an experienced Site I&C Commissioning Technician to support commissioning activities on a UK gas power project. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role focused on the successful commissioning and handover of instrumentation and control systems. You will work as part of an established commissioning team, contributing to safe, compliant and efficient delivery of I&C commissioning activities across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands‑on commissioning of I&C systems including DCS, PLCs, control system software and communications with third‑party devices
  • Commissioning and testing of instrumentation such as transmitters, analytical instruments, motorised and pneumatic valves
  • Loop checks and functional testing from DCS to field devices
  • Calibration and verification using HART communicators, current/voltage generators and related tools
  • System optimisation, fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Completion of commissioning documentation, protocols and test records
  • Coordination with commissioning, erection and subcontractor teams
  • Guidance and oversight of subcontractors and external partners
  • Strict adherence to EHS requirements, processes and project procedures
  • Execution of LOTO, Job Safety Analysis, Work Authorisation, Confined Space and Hot Work permit processes
  • Reporting to the Lead I&C Engineer / I&C Engineer

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in power station or process plant commissioning
  • Strong background in I&C / Control Systems commissioning
  • ONC / OND in Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Confident working with DCS, PLCs and field instrumentation
  • Strong safety awareness and experience working under permit‑to‑work systems
  • Comfortable working in multi‑disciplinary and international teams
  • Clear communicator with good written and spoken English
  • Full UK working rights
