About the Role
Carbon60's aerospace client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of a new control bench for a large hydromechanical test installation. You will be a key part of a multi‑disciplinary team responsible for delivering the full electrical design lifecycle — from initial architecture development through to validation, verification, and entry into service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical design for a complex avionic control bench.
- Develop and contribute to system architecture and integration activities.
- Produce detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Manage technical design risks and design milestones (FCR, FDR, PDR, CDR).
- Oversee build, installation, and assembly of the control bench.
- Lead the V&V phase and ensure successful entry into service.
- Work closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements and meet delivery targets.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience leading medium–large electrical or avionic control bench design projects.
- Strong background using electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad).
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, electrical design principles, and testing methodologies.
- Experience with electrical architecture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems.
- Familiarity with avionic data buses (A429, CAN, AFDX) and hardware interfaces (discretes, analogue signals).
- Aerospace or highly regulated engineering industry experience is highly desirable.
- Team‑oriented with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Contract Details
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Hours: 35 per week (4.5‑day working pattern between 07:00–19:00).
- Interview Process: 1‑stage virtual interview.
