The Role
As Technical Sales Engineer, you’ll be the bridge between engineering capability and customer need — identifying opportunities, creating tailored solutions, and guiding prospects from first conversation through to contract signature.
You will:
- Identify and open new opportunities across target industries
- Support existing customers and uncover cross‑selling possibilities
- Translate complex product capabilities into clear technical and commercial proposals
- Work closely with engineering teams and customer technical stakeholders
- Build relationships globally and manage a sales cycle ranging from 3 months to 2 years
- Provide accurate sales forecasting and contribute to commercial strategy
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role where curiosity, technical aptitude and commercial instinct are essential.
About You
You’ll thrive here if you are:
- Degree‑qualified in a Science or Engineering discipline
- Experienced in technical sales or a similar consultative engineering role
- Familiarity with fibre optics, sensor technologies or measurement systems is desirable but not essential as full product training will be provided
- A confident communicator able to explain technical concepts to mixed‑ability audiences
- Commercially sharp and comfortable building compelling business cases
- Proactive, inquisitive, relationship‑driven and motivated by business growth
- Willing to travel in the UK and internationally
