6 month contract position - Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm which may lead to further work.

The company is a UK leading multi-disciplined engineering firm specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a fabricator welder - STICK MMA to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting a process pipework installation and plant maintenance project in Bury St Edmunds.

Duties

As a suitably qualified and experienced fabricator welder with STICK MMA experience you will be working within a heavy industrial environment, carrying out maintenance works to production plant and equipment. The work is extremely varied but will typically include welding and fitting the full range of pipe sizes, specifically 6' diameter, 3mm - 12mm wall thickness steel pipework, either full STICK or TIG root with STICK cap and fill. Other duties will include fabricating and repairing chutes, stone catchers and machine guards from 5mm up to 25mm plate all STICK welded. Due to the heavy gauge nature of the materials used you need to have experience of plasma cutting, grinding, drilling and multi-run positional STICK welding.

About You

Based ideally in Norfolk or Suffolk you will need to live within a commutable distance of IP32 7BB. Demonstrable experience of fabricating from heavy gauge plate and STICK welding within an industrial or agricultural environment is essential for this position. Previous codings in STICK welding processes are preferred. Confined space training certificate would also be an advantage.
