Are you a seasoned Commissioning Engineer with a passion for high-voltage transmission projects? Ready to take on a high-impact role with a leading name in the energy sector? We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme, starting ASAP. This is a 12-month contract with a day rate of £860 (Inside IR35 via PAYE Umbrella).
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading commissioning activities from Practical Completion (PC) to energisation.
- Collaborating with stakeholders in joint commissioning meetings.
- Liaising with the ESO for EON/ION requirements.
- Ensuring seamless transition from construction to commissioning.
- Applying and restoring protection settings during commissioning.
- Diagnosing and resolving protection circuit issues.
- Creating detailed commissioning switching programs and schedules.
- Reporting weekly to senior management.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer.
- Strong background in transmission substations.
- Hands-on experience with NG ESO / NGET.
- NG Persons authorisation – highly desirable.
Location: Remote-based with flexibility for site and vessel visits, plus occasional travel to the Glasgow office.
Clearance Required: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History), Medical Questionnaire, and Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
