Carbon 60 is looking to recruit an Asbestos Surveyor for its public sector client based in Portsmouth Pay rate is £27.81ph PAYE Working hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, 37 hours paid This is a temporary role, due to start on 2nd December 2024 until 31st March 2025 The will be assisting our client’s repairs and maintenance teams managing any asbestos related issues in the client’s building portfolio Job role You will be based at one of the client’s area offices and will carry out asbestos surveys across the varied housing stock, together with their asset portfolio of corporate, commercial and community assets including schools. You will be supporting them to maintain and improve their properties. You will ensure the right repairs are ordered and and arrange for the removal of asbestos using specialist contractors You will need A degree/HNC level qualification in a building or construction field or be able to demonstrate sufficient relevant experience A specialist asbestos qualification (S301, P402) To be able to conduct management asbestos surveys, including sampling and record the presence of asbestos To be aware of all relevant building related legislation Have knowledge and experience of construction related health & safety legislation Have relevant knowledge and experience of all Microsoft packages and demonstrate practical IT skills using Excel spreadsheets to analyse data or Word when writing reports Have planning skills and demonstrate the ability to be organise methodical when undertaking surveys, preparing and managing projects to ensure effective time management. Have communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrate the ability to be a good communicator developing relationships with clients and customers Full driving licence and provide a car for work, as you will be visiting various and will need to travel effectively between them.
