Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support construction site operations and project delivery based in Birmingham.
ROLE: Assistant Site Manager
LOCATION: Birmingham, B46
PAY RATE: £200 CIS
CONTRACT: 2 Month Contract (Possibilities of Extension)
THE ROLE: We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of construction projects. The role involves assisting with programme delivery, maintaining health & safety standards, coordinating materials, and ensuring quality and compliance across site operations. The successful candidate will act as a key link between site teams, head office, clients, and subcontractors while helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Site Manager with daily site operations across multiple social housing sites
- Monitor and report progress against programme deadlines
- Support the coordination of storage heater installation works within council properties
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and company standards
- Carry out site inductions, monitor PPE compliance, and maintain site housekeeping
- Assist with risk assessments, permits, scaffold safety, and asbestos awareness procedures
- Liaise with tenants, subcontractors, local authorities, and internal management teams
- Support quality inspections, defect management, and compliance checks
- Coordinate materials, deliveries, and workforce activities across sites
- Maintain accurate records and elevate issues through the correct channels
- Assist with opening, closing, and securing sites when required
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in Assistant Site Management within social housing or construction projects (Social housing experience preferred)
- Full UK Driving Licence and use of own vehicle
- Valid DBS Check
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS Certification
- First Aid Certificate
- Fire Marshall Certification
- Asbestos Awareness Certificate
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Skills:
- Experience managing occupied properties and tenant-facing projects
- Previous experience on heating or electrical upgrade programmes
- Up-to-date knowledge of construction and social housing regulations
