An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of major HVDC transmission infrastructure projects as part of a long‑term strategic investment programme. The role supports the delivery of civils and building works associated with large onshore converter station developments, working within a multidisciplinary project environment and alongside framework supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in coordinating project activities across a complex construction environment
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing standards
- Assist with programme, cost and budget tracking to ensure delivery to schedule
- Interface with contractors, design teams and internal/external stakeholders
- Manage project documentation including RFIs, change events and technical submittals
Experience & Knowledge
- Experience within a project delivery or construction environment
- Understanding of construction practices and site-based delivery
- Exposure to AC substations, HVDC converter stations or complex infrastructure projects advantageous
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, the Health & Safety at Work Act and relevant HSE legislation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Aware of NEC3 contract administration preferred
