Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) to support the delivery of mechanical building services projects for a public sector organisation based in Preston.
The successful candidate will support the delivery, design, specification, and project management of mechanical building services projects across a diverse property portfolio. Working as part of a multidisciplinary Building Design Team, you will assist in managing planned and reactive building services works while providing technical support across a range of mechanical systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in building services who combines practical engineering knowledge with good IT and administrative skills. Candidates with either a mechanical or electrical building services background will be considered, provided they have experience working across building services environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Support the delivery of mechanical building services projects from design through to completion
- Manage small-scale building services projects, ensuring delivery within programme, budget, and quality expectations
- Respond to reactive issues involving heating, hot water, electrical services, and other critical building systems by coordinating contractors and ensuring timely resolution
- Assist with the design and specification of mechanical building services including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, hot water, gas, BMS, and legionella mitigation systems
- Provide technical advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments throughout project delivery
