Overview
As a Digital Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll work alongside System/Network Administrators and Software Developers to deliver and support cutting-edge Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) systems. This is a hands-on technical role requiring initiative, collaboration, and a strong understanding of secure digital infrastructure. You’ll be involved in everything from system design and deployment to support and documentation, contributing directly to mission-critical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support MDA digital infrastructure solutions.
- Provide 1st–3rd line support across on-site operations centres and a global user base.
- Participate in a 24/7, 365 out-of-hours callout roster.
- Generate technical documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Ensure Secure by Design principles and security guidance are followed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet operational and business needs.
- Travel occasionally (domestic and international) as required.
- Eligible for DV Security Clearance.
- Strong experience across infrastructure technologies including:
- VMWare, Private Cloud, Server Hardware (Edge, GPU Clusters)
- DevOps tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins), CI/CD, IaaC
- Network Infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper), LAN/WAN/Security
- Windows/Linux OS, VDI (VMWare Horizon)
- Monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Kibana, PRTG)
- Messaging, Web, Identity, DNS, Backup, Licensing, Storage, PKI
- Source control (Git), GIS (ESRI Enterprise)
- AI/ML workflows and analytical services
- Royal Navy or maritime domain experience
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, MS Teams
- ITIL v4 certification
Knowledge of maritime/geospatial data types (NMEA/AIS, Radar, SIGINT, Imagery, etc.).
