This company is seeking a talented and experienced Satellite AIT EGSE Engineer to join their dynamic team. If you have a passion for electrical engineering, a strong background in spacecraft testing, and a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As the Satellite AIT EGSE Engineer, you will be responsible for specifying, procuring, and overseeing the day-to-day support of the electrical test racks used during spacecraft build and test. This role involves validating and maintaining the test equipment, as well as configuring, maintaining, and administering the computers on the EGSE network.
Key responsibilities for the Satellite AIT EGSE Engineer include:
- Maintenance and fault-finding of electronic and RF test racks
- Computer system and network administration
- Programming and scripting in various languages
- Supporting environmental and launch test campaigns
- Preparing test specifications, reviewing data packs, and assisting with design and non-conformance reviews
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of a degree in an Electrical Engineering-related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role for over 5 years
- Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and RF test racks
- Proficient fault-finding skills down to board and component level
- Strong experience in network and computer administration in Windows and Linux environments
- Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to prepare procedures and reports
- Knowledge of interfaces such as Mil-1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, RS232/422, and ATE environments like PCI, VXI, and PXI
- Competence in using a variety of general-purpose lab test equipment
- Willingness to support shifts and travel overseas for test campaigns as required
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- Experience in electrical integration of equipment on a spacecraft
- Working knowledge of TMTC Databases
- Expertise in writing test sequences/scripts for spacecraft systems tests, including FDIR from the Central Checkout System (CCS)
- Familiarity with environmental and launch test campaigns
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, particularly Linux/Unix bash scripts
