Carbon60 is seeking a talented and experienced Safety and Environment Engineer to join their client based in Portsmouth. As a Safety and Environment Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the company\βs safety and environmental management plans, as well as supporting the delivery of technical files and Declarations of Conformity.
This position is a 6 month contract offering both PAYE and Umbrella rates. Rates are dependant on experience.
Key Responsibilities of the Safety and Environment Engineer:
β Develop and maintain Safety and Environmental Management Plans (SEMP) and Safety and Environmental Cases (SECR) in accordance with UK MOD Safety and Environmental processes
β Chair internal and external Project Safety and Environmental Committee meetings
β Support the development of products to meet the requirements of EU Directives, including the delivery of technical files and Declarations of Conformity
β Undertake and facilitate required Safety and Environmental analysis
β Provide advice, guidance, and expertise to project and product teams, acting as the focal point for all project Safety, Environmental, and Product Regulatory compliance matters
Qualifications and Experience Required:
β Knowledge and experience of UK MOD Safety and Environmental Management processes (ASEMS, DEF STAN 00-056, DEF STAN 00-51, POSMS, POEMS)
β Working knowledge of UK and EU Safety and Environmental Product Regulatory Compliance legislation
β Knowledge and experience of Military Satellite communication in the Maritime domain (an advantage, but not essential)
β Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
β Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
β Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
