Carbon60 are currently looking for a Power Press Operator/Setter to join one of our Defence clients in Portsmouth, manufacturing high-precision components to tight tolerances. You will be responsible for setting and operating mechanical Power presses and hydraulic presses according to work orders. Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9 hours per day (Fridays off) Salary: Circa £25k/£28k (Experience dependent. Company performance based annual bonus) Responsibilities: Set and operate mechanical Power presses and hydraulic presses according to work orders. Load sheet metal strips onto presses and mount press tools. Run machines and inspect work to verify conformance of die setup to specifications. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press machinery. Inspect products for quality assurance. Requirements: Good grasp of the English language, both orally and in writing, as well as experience working with engineering drawings Experience working as a press setter with knowledge of setting and operating power presses up to 100 tons. Familiarity with single op/ganged and progression tooling fed from blanks and strips. Knowledge of punch/die changes and common tooling problem-solving skills. Press setting certificate (preferred).
