About the Role
We are supporting a leading aerospace organisation in the recruitment of Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join their production team on a long-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge commercial and military aircraft at a highly respected UK aerospace site. You'll be part of the Build Production team, working across one of the most successful military aircraft programmes. The role is fully onsite at Filton, working Monday-Thursday on daytime shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from engineering instructions and aircraft drawings
- Carry out structural and mechanical fitting tasks to required quality standards
- Use power tools for drilling, shimming, sealing and assembly work
- Complete 1st party certification (training provided)
- Work safely within confined spaces (e.g., wing tanks) and at heights
- Ensure all work meets strict Health & Safety and aerospace quality requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A completed engineering apprenticeship (e.g., aircraft fitter, sheet metal worker, toolmaker, maintenance technician, fitter/turner)
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Previous hands-on experience using hand tools in a fitting or assembly environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and an openness to continuous improvement
- High regard for Health & Safety standards
Additional Requirements
- BPSS clearance (processed prior to start)
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical
- Must be comfortable working within confined spaces and at heights
- Applicants must meet ITAR restrictions
Shift Pattern
Monday-Thursday 06:30 - 15:45
Paid overtime (premium uplift applies)
