Repair Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer – Bristol

We\’re looking for a skilled Repair F&DT Engineer to support the assessment and justification of repairs on metallic wing structures. You\’ll play a key role in ensuring airworthiness compliance and delivering rapid, high-quality solutions to real-world in-service challenges.

About the Role

As a Repair F&DT Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for:

  • Performing fatigue and damage tolerance assessments using Airbus-approved methods and tools.
  • Producing and coordinating justification reports and engineering documentation for repair approval.
  • Collaborating with Design and Static Stress Engineers to develop optimal repair solutions.
  • Ensuring all repair engineering tasks are planned, monitored, and delivered on time.

About You

You\’re an experienced aerospace professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You\’re confident managing multiple priorities and enjoy working as part of a team to solve complex technical problems.

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in F&DT analysis of aircraft structures using hand calculations and software tools.
  • Strong understanding of F&DT principles and their practical application.
  • Proficiency with Airbus tools such as ISAMI and Mathcad.
  • Experience writing F&DT justification reports to Airbus standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Airbus structural repair design requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Airbus aircraft structures.
  • Delegated signature for structural analysis (or working towards it).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
