We\’re urgently seeking an experienced Soft Services Facilities Manager to support operations across the Chester West and Chester Council estate. This is a high-priority role requiring immediate availability.
?? The Opportunity
This is a strategic, day-to-day management role overseeing soft services across a diverse portfolio of 290+ council buildings, including offices, libraries, markets, gyms, and civic sites. You\’ll be the central point of coordination, ensuring services run smoothly and teams are supported.
?? Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage 2 Cleaning Supervisors and a wider team of 40 cleaners
- Oversee delivery of cleaning, concierge, car park attendants, and building supervision
- Solve operational challenges quickly and effectively
- Maintain service standards across multiple sites with varied requirements
- Engage with stakeholders and ensure visibility at key locations (e.g. Chester Town Hall, Ellesmere Port Library)
? What You\’ll Bring
- Strong background in facilities management, ideally within soft services
- Proven experience managing small teams and coordinating service delivery
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations
- DBS clearance is required

You\’ll have flexibility to work from any council-serviced building, with preference for high-profile sites to maintain visibility and stakeholder engagement. The team is largely self-sufficient, so your focus will be on leadership and coordination, not hands-on delivery.
