Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for an Electroplater within the Plating department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry. This Electroplater position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role you will play a crucial role in the surface treatment of aircraft landing gear components, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards for safety and durability.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Proven ability to understand and interpret process standard practices, drawings and Company Job cards.
  • Previous experience to undertake Material Handling to include workshop Gantry cranes and slings.
  • Previous experience in preparation of parts for electroplating (Masking techniques etc.)
  • Previous experience to undertake surface preparation by Grit Blasting techniques would be an advantage but not essential.
  • The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in a range of the following electroplating processes:
  • Cadmium Plate and Dalic Cadmium plate
  • Nickel plating
  • Hard Chrome plating
  • Alocrom
  • Nital etch (Acid Etch inspection)
  • Heat Treatment of components
  • Ability to complete work in a manner that satisfies Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • A good understanding of environmental issues associated with Electroplating Industry.
  • Previous Knowledge of information related to the COMAH would be an advantage although training will be given to the successful candidate.
  • Skills and Experience required:

    • To have worked within a Plating shop environment.
    • Have a basic understanding of Processes and procedures associated with Electroplating.
    • Experience of working in a EASA 145 environment.
    • Able to communicate with all levels of Management.
    • Willingness to learn new skills to help the Company achieve its targets.
