Commercial Manager in Portsmouth

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their dynamic team based in Portsmouth. As a Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing a range of contractual and commercial topics, contributing to the success of this growing organization.

This role is a 6 month contract with a possibility of extention.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Manager:

– Provide commercial support to complex bids, requiring innovation and creativity
– Manage ongoing contracts ranging in value up to hundreds of millions
– Offer commercial support to handle changes on existing contracts
– Review and lead the negotiation of various contractual agreements
– Work closely with stakeholders to deliver profitable solutions, mitigating risks
– Collaborate with the procurement team to advise on contractual obligations and risks
– Ensure efficient and accurate performance in accordance with company procedures
– Develop strong relationships with customers to ensure smooth running of contracts
– Support the wider business by providing commercial guidance and management

Qualifications and Skills:

– Demonstrated experience within the commercial field
– Proven track record in a customer-facing role
– Experience in competitive bid situations
– Strong negotiation and contract management skills
– Excellent stakeholder management abilities
– Knowledge of the defence industry
– Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude
– Understanding of project management and risk management principles
