Carbon60 is seeking a talented Surface Technology Specialist to join their team in Filton. If you have a passion for developing and deploying materials, processes, and test technologies for design and build, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As the Surface Technology Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing corrosion protection, sealing concepts, and solutions to enable the design, build, and operation of aircraft
- Ensuring reactive support for improvement projects to enhance performance, reduce costs, and shorten timelines
- Adhering to EHS (Environment Health and Safety) regulations, such as REACh, by utilising eco-efficient materials and processes
- Adapting existing corrosion protection and sealing principles to a chromate-free environment
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in aerospace materials, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing processes. Expertise in aerospace materials (metallic and composite), surface treatments, coatings, and sealants is essential. A degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Material Engineering, or a similar field is required.
In addition to your technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess a high degree of initiative, credibility, independence, integrity, and confidentiality. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must, as you will be working in a multi-location international team.
