About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Communications Specialist to join a large, high-profile organisation on an interim basis. This is a key maternity cover role working closely with UK and global communication teams to deliver effective, engaging communications both internally and externally.
You will act as a trusted business partner - managing communication requests, shaping content, and driving strategic comms plans across multiple functions. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, excellent writing skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality content at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver communication plans aligned to business priorities
- Produce high-quality content including articles, events materials, photo/video assets, community updates and internal communications
- Manage and prioritise communication requests, ensuring alignment to strategic plans
- Support community engagement and local stakeholder relations
- Collaborate with site leadership teams, HR, Public Affairs, unions and cross-functional colleagues
- Lead comms projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams where required
- Maintain governance tools and communication tracking systems
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in internal, external, or community communications
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills
- Ability to quickly build relationships and influence at all levels
- Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability
- Experience working in large or complex organisations
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Not a marketing role - this is pure communications
