The predicted salary is between 27 - 40 Β£ per hour.

Location: Filton (60% onsite)

Contract (Inside IR35): Until April 2027 possible extension

Pay: Β£33.44 per hour Umbrella / Β£25.00 per hour PAYE

Hours: 35 per week (overtime paid at standard rate)

About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Communications Specialist to join a large, high-profile organisation on an interim basis. This is a key maternity cover role working closely with UK and global communication teams to deliver effective, engaging communications both internally and externally.

You will act as a trusted business partner - managing communication requests, shaping content, and driving strategic comms plans across multiple functions. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, excellent writing skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality content at pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver communication plans aligned to business priorities
  • Produce high-quality content including articles, events materials, photo/video assets, community updates and internal communications
  • Manage and prioritise communication requests, ensuring alignment to strategic plans
  • Support community engagement and local stakeholder relations
  • Collaborate with site leadership teams, HR, Public Affairs, unions and cross-functional colleagues
  • Lead comms projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams where required
  • Maintain governance tools and communication tracking systems

  • Proven experience in internal, external, or community communications
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and influence at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability
  • Experience working in large or complex organisations
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Not a marketing role - this is pure communications
