An opportunity is available for a Construction Manager to support the delivery of major HVDC transmission infrastructure projects as part of a long-term strategic investment programme. The role is site-based and focused on the delivery of civils works packages associated with onshore AC substations and HVDC converter stations, working closely with project and multi-disciplinary delivery teams and framework contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal site-based point of contact, representing the client organisation on site
- Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with statutory, legal and CDM 2015 requirements
- Coordinate contractors and subcontractors to deliver works to programme and agreed quality standards
- Monitor compliance with planning consents, health & safety legislation and site KPIs
- Maintain effective relationships with contractors, suppliers and local stakeholders while promoting a strong safety culture
Experience & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in on-site construction management within civils or infrastructure works
- Experience delivering electricity transmission infrastructure (AC substations or HVDC converter stations) highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and CDM 2015
- Experience managing multiple contractors and monitoring quality through inspection and test plans
- Full UK driving licence required due to site travel
