The Role
Carbon manages a broad panel of reinsurers, capital providers, and consortium partners that underpin its underwriting capacity and enterprise value. This role sits within the team responsible for managing and optimising these strategic relationships, working closely with the Head of Reinsurance and Managing Director to support capital strategy, capacity planning, and long-term growth which is central for Carbon's success.
- Work directly with the Head of Reinsurance and Managing Director on all reinsurance and capital initiatives.
- Attend key reinsurer and capital provider meetings, supporting negotiations and relationship development.
- Coordinate the preparation of Reinsurance and Capital submissions and contractual documentation.
- Orchestrate and participate in the annual reinsurance and capital engagement plan, coordinating meetings, renewals, investor discussions, and market activity throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality presentation materials for all reinsurance and capital meetings.
- Lead the standardisation of presentations and submission packs within the company’s technology platform (Graphene) to ensure materials are consistent, accurate, and easy to generate. Work closely with the technology team to do this.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure materials are compelling, consistent, and aligned with the firm’s brand and growth strategy.
- Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance, operations, and technology teams to ensure data integrity and efficient workflows.
- Active involvement in outward placements being a key point of contact to Brokers.
- Coordinate and manage the annual calendar of reinsurance and capital activities, including renewal meetings, roadshows, and investor engagement.
- Consolidate and validate underwriting and exposure data for renewal submissions to reinsurers and capital providers.
- Support modelling analysis and financial outputs used in placement decisions.
- Assist in reviewing placement documentation and contract wordings.
- Track placement timelines, market responses, and key deliverables.
- Coordinate data requests and ensure timely responses to market queries.
- Support negotiation preparation and assist in the execution of placements.
- Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency through greater use of automation and platform capabilities.
