Start date: Immediate
Role type: Fixed Term (6-12 months contract)
The Role
As part of its transformation, the finance function has undertaken a number of projects across digitalisation, modelling and MI development. Over the first six months, the Finance Project Manager will be primarily responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a planning and forecasting tool, including process re-engineering as needed. This corresponds to the first phase of a capability uplift within FP&A. In this role you will report to the CFO and work closely with the FP&A Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of an FP&A tool implementation, from vendor onboarding and requirements gathering through to go-live and BAU handover, ensuring the solution meets the company’s budgeting, forecasting and actuals reporting needs.
- Lead the design of robust FP&A processes including annual budgeting cycles, rolling forecasts and actuals vs budget reporting.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, resourcing and budget, with clear escalation paths and decision-making accountability.
- Engage finance leadership, the CFO and key budget holders throughout the project to capture requirements, manage expectations and secure timely sign-off at key milestones.
- Coordinate across technology, operations and finance teams, as well as the implementation partner, to manage dependencies and ensure aligned delivery.
- Hold the implementation partner accountable for delivery within timelines and budget, escalating risks and issues proactively.
- Drive user adoption through the development of training materials, documentation and a structured change management approach.
- Potentially oversee a hyper-care period following go-live, resolving issues rapidly and ensuring a smooth handover to BAU.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven FP&A experience, with strong hands-on knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and actuals reporting processes, ideally in the insurance industry.
- Experience leading cross-departmental projects.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects involving finance, technology and third implementation partners.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication skills with experience producing clear process documentation and requirements specifications.
Desirable
- Understanding of financial modelling.
- Experience designing or rebuilding FP&A processes, not just operating within existing ones.
- Experience leading the implementation of a financial planning tool end to end.
- Experience with FP&A applications such as Anaplan, Pigment, etc.
- Experience with change management to drive user adoption of the new tool and processes.
Personal Attributes
- Hands-on, flexible, and willing to support across the finance team.
- Strong organisation skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Clear communicator able to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Delivery focused.
- Equally comfortable working at a strategic level and getting into the detail when needed.
