This is a role within the dynamic, fast-growing environment of Carbon ThreeSixty, a recognised leader in advanced composite design and development. You will be responsible for the design, development and project management of innovative and challenging advanced composite products. You will be working with customers to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet their technical and commercial requirements.
You should be a highly capable individual with excellent attention to detail, methodical approach, a good Engineering background with a sound understanding and ability to apply fundamental Engineering first-principles, and a desire to deliver the best possible solution at all times. You will be responsible for liaising with all key internal and external stakeholders in the business, including customers and suppliers, to ensure that these products are manufactured and delivered to the customer’s requirements, often in challenging timeframes.
Key Responsibilities- Developing new designs and realising customer’s requirements, working closely with the Engineering, Quality and Production teams.
- Develop tooling designs, technical drawings and process instructions for manufacturing and inspection.
- Ensuring the smooth introduction of new designs into production with the Manufacturing Engineers and Production Managers.
- Customer and supplier liaison, and supporting with customer RFQ and technical queries.
- Troubleshoot issues with the production team, and implement robust solutions to address.
- Support the implementation of process instructions and quality alerts where appropriate.
- Ensure existing products are managed, issues identified, promptly addressed and continuously improved.
- Implement ad-hoc engineering requests of production in a controlled and traceable manner.
- Assisting with the ongoing technical development of new technology, material development and manufacturing processes within the company.
- Clear open two-way communication skills, with an approachable, positive and pro-active attitude.
- Methodical approach to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own initiative, with the confidence to assert themselves where appropriate.
- Flexibility and willing to learn new skills.
- Technical, hands-on approach with a good understanding of the commercial implications and the flexible and time sensitive nature of a responsive and agile working environment.
- Enthusiastic and flexible in performing a wide range of tasks within and sometimes outside of their standard job description.
