Who are Carbon Synergy?
Carbon Synergy are looking to expand their MEP team with this new Mechanical Estimator/Designer position. Based in Hull, we combine technical excellence with a strong commitment to energy efficiency, innovation and quality craftsmanship. We work with organisations in various sectors including industrial, commercial and residential, and we believe the people make our organisation. We are passionate about putting people first, and we believe in developing and upskilling our workforce.
What might a typical day look like?
- Designing heating, plumbing and HVAC systems ranging from retail outlets to multi‑bedroomed care facilities
- Catching up with the team and finding out if there is anything urgent project‑wise that you might need to help with
- Working with CAD drawings – putting together layouts, adding annotations, integrating line sketches into drawings
- Pulling together estimations for mechanical services and preparing tender submissions
- Maintaining SoR pricing on templates to ensure they are up to date and accurate
- Identifying any potential clashes on CAD drawings, and coordinating with the team to ensure the projects run smoothly

Who might be an ideal candidate?
Whilst having experience using CAD is a plus, we are open to talking to candidates who are quick to pick up new systems. What isn’t negotiable is that you must be competent with MS Excel. Spreadsheets and the manipulation of the same are a key element of this role.
