Carbon Synergy are looking to expand their MEP team with this new Mechanical Estimator/Designer position. Based in Hull, Carbon Synergy are proud to combine technical excellence with a strong commitment to energy efficiency, innovation and quality craftsmanship. They work with organisations in various sectors including industrial, commercial and residential. Responsibilities:

  • Designing heating, plumbing and HVAC systems ranging from retail outlets to multi-bedroomed care facilities.
  • Catching up with the team and finding out if there is anything urgent project-wise that you might need to help with.
  • Working with CAD drawings, putting together layouts, adding annotations, integrating line sketches into drawings.
  • Pulling together estimations for mechanical services and preparing tender submissions.
  • Maintaining SoR pricing on templates to ensure they are up to date and accurate.
  • Identifying any potential clashes on CAD drawings, and coordinating with the team to ensure the projects run smoothly.

What you need to succeed:

  • Are you technically minded, and have a good understanding of AutoCAD?
  • Do you consider yourself to have excellent attention to detail?
  • Do you love working with numbers, MS Excel and are able to use your own initiative?
  • Are you eager to work for a growing organisation that's forward-thinking and locally rooted?
  • Whilst having experience using CAD would be a plus, we are open to talking to candidates who are quick to pick up new systems; however, what isn't negotiable is that you must be competent with MS Excel. Spreadsheets and the manipulation of the same are a key element of this role!

Is this role for you?

  • You're a recent graduate with studies in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, who might have completed a placement in a mechanical-based role.
  • You're already working within the industry but looking for a close-knit team as opposed to being one of hundreds.
  • You have some engineering or mechanical experience, and you're just starting out in the MEP field.

Office Based: Holderness House, Tower House Lane, Saltend, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU12 8EE

Full time: 7.30am-4.30pm, or 8.30am - 5.30pm

Salary: £35,000-£40,000
