About the role

  • Functions as a member of the urgent care team working in both front and back office, clerical and clinical services.

What you'll do

  • Performs all medical procedures necessary (ie. Venipunctures, vital signs and EKGs) on all patients as required. Explains testing procedure to patient prior to test.
  • Receives specimens from patients.
  • Visually review and log test results for completion and abnormalities.
  • Will schedule and register patients in the office, answer telephones, meet and greet patients and assist medical providers in all other matters pertaining to the urgent care visit.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of venipuncture and EKG. (High proficiency)
  • Requires good communication skills and telephone techniques. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to work independently. (Medium proficiency)
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of ancillary testing procedures. (High proficiency)
  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
