About the role
- Functions as a member of the urgent care team working in both front and back office, clerical and clinical services.
What you'll do
- Performs all medical procedures necessary (ie. Venipunctures, vital signs and EKGs) on all patients as required. Explains testing procedure to patient prior to test.
- Receives specimens from patients.
- Visually review and log test results for completion and abnormalities.
- Will schedule and register patients in the office, answer telephones, meet and greet patients and assist medical providers in all other matters pertaining to the urgent care visit.
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of venipuncture and EKG. (High proficiency)
- Requires good communication skills and telephone techniques. (High proficiency)
- Ability to work independently. (Medium proficiency)
- Must have a thorough knowledge of ancillary testing procedures. (High proficiency)
- High School Graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
