The role supports the company’s capital formation and inorganic growth activities, contributing to funding rounds, strategic partnerships, and investment decisions. The position will translate complex and incomplete information into rigorous financial and investment cases, to support the VP, Corporate Development and executive team with high‑quality analysis and insight. The role manages core corporate finance work including financial analysis, project and transaction modelling, and product‑level unit economics. In addition to their core responsibilities, the role supports FP&A with modelling and scenario analysis, and Legal with Shareholder analysis. Success in this role will be defined by the quality, clarity, and reliability of financial analysis supporting capital raising and strategic decisions, and the efficient execution of funding and transaction processes.
Role Focus (First 6–12 Months)
- 50–60%: capital raising, investor materials, diligence, financial modelling
- 25–30%: corporate finance frameworks, LCOC, scenario modelling
- 10–20%: partnerships and strategy support
Corporate Development Execution (Funding, Strategy & Transactions)
- Execute corporate development initiatives across funding, strategy, and transactions.
- Prepare high‑quality investor, board, and transaction materials (IMs, presentations, supporting analysis).
- Support funder relationships by tracking inbound interest, mapping mandates, and informing engagement strategy.
- Co‑develop investment cases across financing structures, partnerships, and M&A opportunities.
- Manage data rooms and coordinate internal/external diligence processes.
- Partner with external advisers (banks, legal, consultants) on models, structures, and financing vehicles.
- Lead M&A and selective inorganic analysis, including valuation, diligence, and clear recommendation synthesis.
Corporate Finance, Analysis & Modelling Excellence
- Build robust, defensible financial models across projects, transactions, and products with clear assumptions.
- Enhance modelling efficiency, automation, and data quality across Corporate Development.
- Provide analytical input to levelised costs, corporate planning, and strategic decision‑making.
- Support broader modelling needs (planning, opportunity evaluation, JV analysis, proposition modelling).
- Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
Portfolio Advancement & Partnership Development
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to maintain a deep understanding of project and opportunity pipelines.
- Identify and support partnerships across the value chain (transport, sequestration, utilisation).
- Build relationships across the ecosystem (banks, infrastructure/transition funds, industry partners).
- Support development of long‑term roadmaps and investment recommendations for executives.
Team Contribution & Leadership
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and quality review across team outputs.
- Coordinate workstreams across analysts and associates while maintaining a strong individual contribution (~70–80%).
- Build strong internal relationships and organisational trust.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have a combination of below knowledge, skills and experience:
Experience & Sector Exposure
- Background in corporate development, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity/infrastructure, or transactional FP&A, with direct exposure to funding, transactions, or strategic analysis.
- Experience in energy transition, industrials, or infrastructure preferred; exposure to carbon capture or decarbonisation economics advantageous.
- Strong understanding of capital raising processes, including investor materials, diligence coordination, and working with external advisers.
Corporate Finance & Analytical Skills
- Advanced financial modelling across project and corporate finance, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Proven ability to translate complex or incomplete data into structured, decision‑ready insights.
- Strong grasp of project economics, key value drivers, and cost curves (e.g., LCOC) for capital‑intensive sectors.
- Comfortable working with large, imperfect datasets and forming robust assumptions; experience with data tools (incl. generative AI) is a plus.
M&A, Transactions & Partnerships
- Experience supporting M&A, joint ventures, partnerships, or other inorganic growth initiatives, including valuation and diligence.
- Familiarity engaging with investment banks, legal counsel, and consultants through transaction or funding processes.
- Ability to assess counterparties’ capabilities, incentives, and strategic fit across structures.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
