This company, a National player in the Engineering and Maintenance world, requires 2 EC&I Design Engineers to be based at their prestigious client site in St Helens. An outstanding opportunity to become part of a leading Engineering and Maintenance provider supporting customers across the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables and food & beverage markets.
Pay Rate: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE Plus excellent benefits
Location: St Helens
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week with the option for hybrid working.
Senior EC&I Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) designs of electrical control panels and their related systems.
- Acting as a technical authority for the EC&I discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager in achieving business targets.
- Understanding customer requirements and being able to translate these into engineering solutions.
- Manage and complete the EC&I engineering and design of projects as well as support construction throughout the manufacturing stage, including change control.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of tasks in order to deliver specific agreed objectives on time, demonstrating control of cost and quality.
- Client facing and manage the expectations of the client in relation to the project scope.
- You shall be able to effectively carry out, check and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control and report all costs on allocated projects in terms of progress, scope change and man hours.
The successful candidate:
- Possession of security clearance is ideal due to the nature of the work, or the ability to obtain UK security clearance criteria.
- Experience in highly regulated environments, such as the nuclear, defence, oil & gas or power generation is highly desirable.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Minimum of 10 years professional engineering design/technical specialist experience.
- A high level of theoretical and practical Electrical Engineering knowledge with experience in the developing, testing and evaluating of engineering designs.
- Low Voltage switchgear Design experience and Control/automation System Design experience advantageous.
- Motor Control Centre Design and Variable Drive System Design experience advantageous.
- Experience with AutoCAD packages including, Eplan, Auto CAD Electrical.
- Familiarity with AMTECH.
