Work Scope: Gravity Based Structures (Foundations)

Location: Home Based with regular travel to London

Sector: Offshore Wind

Duration: Running until September 2027

Rates: Approx. £450 Daily Rate Outside IR35 Ltd Co. (All-Inclusive)

Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK

Working Pattern

  • Role based from home but will require travel to client offices in London on a weekly basis or as needed without additional expenses.
  • Ideally, the candidate lives close to London to be able to commute. Personnel shall be preferably based in London or available to commute to London.
  • For site visits, the expenses will be reimbursed at cost as per receipts with pre-approval.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Quality Engineer include but may not be limited to:

  • Implementing the job Quality Management System in conformance with the COMPANY approved Quality Plan for managing QA/QC activities relating to Site construction.
  • Contribute to the development of the job Quality Plan.
  • Review, authorise and maintain applicable project quality documents required to execute the quality activities for construction work scope.
  • Co-ordination and oversight of QA/QC resources within the project including COMPANY and EPC contractor personnel.
  • Operational and functional reporting line to the COMPANY Quality Manager.
  • Provide guidance and advice to site QC team including COMPANY and EPC contractors and inspectors as required to confirm understanding of the project Quality objectives.
  • Develop a risk-based project audit schedule covering audits of the project management systems, contractor and suppliers, covering project team led, contractor led and combined audits.
  • Identify and manage the resources required to execute the inspection and surveillance schedule.
  • Review and approve construction contractor quality plans, inspection and test plans and other relevant quality documentation.
  • Lead or observe conformance and internal audits as required during construction, capture non-conformances and manage and drive them to closure.
  • Capture quality-related lessons for future projects via the project shared learning process.
  • Contribute to the project quality improvement process by conducting root cause investigations of applicable nonconformances, to identify true root cause and meaningful corrective actions.
  • Analyse trend data from the supplier deviation and concession process to identify interventions to be made for high risk and recurring issues.

Recommended Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years appropriate experience and training.
  • Degree in Engineering; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Welding Inspection Awareness (e.g. PCN Level 1), NDE Awareness, Coating Inspection Awareness.
