Mechanical Project Manager – Process Pipework and Plant 🌟 📍 Location: Huddersfield | 💼 Full-Time | 💰 £60k-£65k + Benefits About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager with proven experience of delivering process pipework and plant installation projects within the food production industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering projects ranging in value from £10k to £5m, from concept through to commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards, efficiency targets, and food safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Manage and deliver mechanical engineering projects within food production facilities, typically process pipework and plant installations. Ensure time lines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Design, develop, and implement mechanical solutions for process improvements and new installations. Manage labour and materials, program works, prepare tenders, negotiate contracts and work with the senior management team to secure ongoing work for the company. Conduct risk assessments, ensuring projects comply with health & safety and food hygiene standards. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Provide technical guidance and leadership.Requirements Demonstrable project engineering experience, specifically process pipework and plant installation works within the food production industry. Strong knowledge of hygienic design, automation systems, and mechanical processes used in food manufacturing. Proven track record of managing full project life cycles, from design through to installation and commissioning. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
