Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work for one of the leading companies based in Worcestershire.

Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Pay rate: 22p/h PAYE / 27.50 umbrella

Job type: 3 Months Contract (possible extension)

Location: Worcestershire, WR5

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical building services
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and reactive maintenance requests
  • Assist with minor installation, upgrades, and adaptation works
  • Perform systematic fault finding on mechanical systems
  • Maintain systems including DHW, LPHW, CHW, ventilation, and pipework
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
  • Safely use tools, access equipment, and PPE as required
  • Complete job cards, maintenance records, and documentation accurately
  • Collaborate with colleagues and departments to minimize disruption
  • Participate in on‑call rota and undertake Authorised Person duties where required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities environment
  • NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services or equivalent
  • Experience working on mechanical systems (heating, water, ventilation)
  • Pipe fitting experience
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices

Desirable:

  • Experience working on steam systems
  • Experience within healthcare or large estates environment

Additional Information:

  • Must be flexible and willing to support other trades

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills essential
