Location: Avonmouth

Salary: Up to £49,800 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts of 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm (two-week rota)

Call-Out Requirement: Participation in a regular on-call rota, typically every other week, with the ability to attend site within one hour when required.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a major distribution operation in Avonmouth. This role is ideal for a qualified maintenance professional who is passionate about technical excellence, operational reliability, and maintaining high safety standards within a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that site infrastructure and operational assets are maintained to the highest standards, supporting business continuity and site performance while contributing to ongoing sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the site maintenance plan, ensuring all assets are maintained to a high standard through effective planning and execution.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, customer service, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and statutory maintenance requirements through regular audits and inspections.
  • Support budget management and procurement activities, identifying cost-effective maintenance solutions.
  • Coordinate and oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring works are completed in line with industry standards.
  • Manage maintenance records, documentation, and remedial actions accurately through CAFM systems.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers.
  • Support site projects and initiatives focused on operational improvement, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience within a distribution, logistics, warehouse, or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Qualified, time-served Electrician with relevant industry accreditation, or equivalent professional qualification in HVAC systems.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, including Water Hygiene/Legionella control, LOLER, PUWER, and Fire Safety regulations.
  • Experience managing compliance audits, statutory inspections, and maintenance records.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and CAFM systems.
  • Proficiency with workplace software, including document and spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience managing suppliers, sourcing parts, and working within maintenance budgets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using CAFM systems such as Opuz.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • SEMA qualification.
  • IPAF licence.
  • Current CSCS card.
