We are seeking an experienced HV Protection Engineer to support the delivery of a major power and energy infrastructure project in Humberside. The role will focus on the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of high voltage protection systems, ensuring safe energisation, grid compliance and reliable operation of plant electrical systems. This position will suit an engineer with strong site experience who is comfortable working in fast paced project environments and interfacing with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review and implement HV protection philosophies
- Configure protection relay settings for generators, transformers and switchgear
- Carry out secondary injection testing and on site commissioning activities
- Support energisation, outage planning and grid connection processes
- Interface with OEMs, commissioning teams, electrical engineers and site management
- Investigate protection faults and support resolution during commissioning
- Ensure compliance with UK Grid Code, DNO and project specific standards
- Produce commissioning records, test reports and handover documentation
