About the Organisation

A leading UK infrastructure organisation is expanding its Procurement & Commercial function to support a major onshore capital delivery programme. The company is responsible for delivering large‑scale, complex projects that are critical to long‑term national infrastructure development. Due to continued growth, the organisation is recruiting three Contracts Managers to join a high‑performing commercial team.

The Opportunity

As a Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in providing both pre‑ and post‑contract procurement and commercial support for high‑value capital projects, ranging from £50M to £500M.
This position is well‑suited to candidates from a Quantity Surveying background, whether from a client‑side or contractor‑side environment. Experience within the energy or utilities sector is beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Support senior commercial leaders in negotiating contractual terms and conditions for major infrastructure projects.
Lead or support the negotiation of contract prices, ensuring value for money and robust price substantiation.
Engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating strong influencing, leadership, and dispute‑resolution skills.
Manage cost and forecasting processes, including regular cost reporting, change control compliance, payment management, and cost estimating.
Provide comprehensive post‑contract commercial management, including negotiating and agreeing compensation events and ensuring compliance with internal commercial governance.
Promote and comply with all health & safety policies, fostering safe working practices both internally and externally.

About You

You will bring:

A degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
Ideally, membership or working toward membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CICES).
Experience across estimating, sourcing management, cost and budget management, and contract administration.
Strong understanding of commercial contracts, with experience drafting, interpreting, and managing standard form construction contracts.
Familiarity with NEC contracts and experience managing bespoke contractual arrangements.
