Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Handyman to support general maintenance works within a healthcare environment at Bristol.

ROLE: Handyman

PAY RATE: £13.45 per hour PAYE (Open to discussion)

CONTRACT TYPE: 2 Months (ASAP start)

LOCATION: Bristol

SHIFT PATTERN:

  • Week 1: 07:00 - 15:30
  • Week 2: 10:00 - 18:30

THE ROLE: The Maintenance Assistant / Fabric Technician will support day-to-day maintenance activities across the hospital site, carrying out basic repairs, routine inspections, and assisting with general building upkeep. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out basic door repairs including push buttons, locks, and access issues
  • Undertake minor building repairs such as ceiling tiles, walls, and signage
  • Assist with fire alarm checks and resets
  • Complete daily checks including plant rooms, roof areas, and helipad
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks (blocked sinks, toilets, drains)
  • Carry out simple electrical tasks such as lamp changes and basic checks
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas
  • Accurately complete all required documentation

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in maintenance, fabric, or handyman roles
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices
  • Ability to work independently
