A specialist engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Escalator Service Engineer to support a growing maintenance and service operation across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in escalators, moving walkways, lifts, automated machinery, material handling equipment, industrial maintenance, or other electro-mechanical systems to join a business that values technical expertise, customer service and career development.
Working from home, you'll be responsible for servicing, fault-finding, repairs and maintenance on a range of passenger transportation equipment across commercial, retail and public-sector environments.
The RoleAs an Escalator Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
- Testing, repairing and replacing faulty components.
- Ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant and fully operational.
- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation.
- Supporting refurbishment, upgrade and modernisation projects.
- Working closely with customers and site contacts to provide a high standard of service.
- Adhering to all health, safety and compliance requirements.
We're keen to hear from engineers with experience in:
- Escalators and moving walkways.
- Lift engineering.
- Field service engineering.
- Industrial plant maintenance.
- Conveyor and material handling systems.
- Automated machinery and production equipment.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance environments.
You should ideally have:
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working with motors, drives, safety circuits, control systems and associated equipment.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A proactive and safety-focused approach.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Service & Repair. Previous escalator or lift industry experience. Experience working on passenger transportation equipment. Relevant engineering qualifications.
