An opportunity has arisen for an independent and suitably qualified Planning Monitoring Officer to support a major infrastructure development during the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.

The role will support pre-construction planning activities and ongoing liaison with local planning authorities and statutory bodies, ensuring full compliance with the terms of a deemed planning permission and associated conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor compliance with all planning conditions and consented requirements throughout construction and site restoration.
  • Agree and implement an appropriate programme of site visits.
  • Produce and submit monthly compliance reports to the Planning Authority summarising site activities.
  • Identify and report any instances of non-compliance to the Planning Authority at the earliest practical opportunity and no later than 10 working days from occurrence.
  • Maintain independence and objectivity while working collaboratively with the project team and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Independent environmental or planning professional with relevant qualifications.
  • Proven experience acting in a monitoring or compliance role on major development or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of UK planning permissions, conditions, and regulatory processes.
  • Ability to engage effectively with planners, regulators, and construction teams.
