  • Contract: Initial 12 months
  • Rate: Up to Β£500 per day (outside IR35)
  • Start: ASAP

The role

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas E&P operator, is looking for a Contracts Administrator / Engineer to join its team in Surrey on an initial 12-month contract. You'll provide contract administration support for service and subcontract arrangements, working alongside engineers, project colleagues and third-party contractors.

You'll be office-based five days per week to begin with. This may reduce to a hybrid arrangement over the course of the contract.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer contracts and subcontracts, from award through to close-out.
  • Prepare, review and process contract documentation and contractor submissions.
  • Support the contract award process, including contract documents and internal approvals.
  • Administer variations and change, tracking schedule and risk impacts.
  • Monitor contract correspondence and flag potential claims or delivery issues early.
  • Maintain contract files and databases, keeping records accurate and up to date.
  • Work with Legal, Finance and Insurance colleagues to make sure contracts follow the client's contracting guidelines.
  • Support project and engineering colleagues in understanding the contractual implications of each scope of work.
  • Assist with reporting and the upkeep of contract documents.

About you

  • Around 5 years' contracts administration or engineering experience within Oil & Gas, ideally with an E&P operator or a Tier 1 service company.
  • Hands-on experience of contract and subcontract administration, including variations and change control.
  • Keen attention to detail, with a methodical approach to documentation and record keeping.
  • Happy working in an office environment five days per week initially.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and comfortable working with colleagues across different departments.
  • Well organised, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint.
