Caraway Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly successful and well-established organisation operating a large-scale transport and logistics operation within the South West. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for the performance of a key site within the network. This is a senior leadership role with significant influence over people, process and operational delivery.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the operation, ensuring transport activities are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer and business expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and operational management of a large, fast-paced transport operation
  • Planning and overseeing daily transport activity across both regional and nationwide distribution networks
  • Driving effective routing, scheduling and resource utilisation
  • Leading, coaching and developing management and operational teams
  • Driving operational performance, fleet efficiency and service excellence
  • Reviewing and developing strategic and operational transport plans
  • Ensuring full compliance across the transport operation, including vehicles, trailers and all legal and regulatory requirements
