Our client is seeking an ambitious and driven Senior Transport Supervisor to support the operational performance of their Hereford site. We are partnering with a successful, people-focused logistics business with a strong presence across the UK.
In this role, you will take a hands-on approach to supporting the day-to-day running of the site while working closely with other Group locations to coordinate loads, share resources, and ensure seamless service delivery. This is a key role within the operation, offering excellent scope for development as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities- Support the daily operational management of the Hereford site, ensuring smooth and efficient running.
- Collaborate closely with other Group sites to coordinate loads and optimise cross-site logistics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring service levels are met and exceeded.
- Assist in reviewing, refining, and implementing operational processes to enhance efficiency and service.
- Support compliance activities to ensure all vehicles, trailers, and operations meet legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- Contribute to performance reporting, cost control, operational planning, and continuous improvement projects.
- Play an active role in site meetings, decision-making processes, and operational problem-solving.
- Transport Manager CPC (National or International), or a willingness to work towards this with full support from the business.
- Experience in transport and/or warehousing within a logistics or 3PL environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Effective communicator who enjoys working collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused.
- Comfortable using a variety of Transport Operational Systems, with training provided where needed.
- A desire to take on increasing responsibility and progress into more senior leadership as the business grows.
