Caravel are exclusively working with a top pan-European Real Estate Private Equity platform looking to hire 2 x Real Estate Debt Analysts into their London team. This sits within their debt team — the group responsible for structuring and raising the financing that underpins their European acquisitions.
The Role
You’ll work across both new deal execution and an existing loan portfolio, supporting senior team members on how debt is raised, negotiated and managed. Day-to-day, this includes:
- Supporting the sourcing and execution of debt for acquisitions and refinancings
- Working directly with banks, debt funds and private credit lenders
- Building and reviewing models to assess financing structures and terms
- Managing loan portfolios, covenants and lender reporting
- Reviewing development facilities, cashflows and project performance
- Supporting amendments, waivers and refinancing processes
Initially, there is a bias towards portfolio work, but from day one you’ll be involved in live transactions, with that increasing over time.
Why this role?
This is a pure-play real estate debt execution role — focused on how deals are financed. What makes it interesting is the breadth and exposure within that remit:
- Working across multiple lenders (banks, debt funds, private credit)
- Exposure to €50m–€100m+ financings across Europe (occasionally lower or even much higher)
- Involvement in both new debt raises and ongoing facility management
- Sitting close to the investment team, but with a clear focus on capital structure and financing strategy
It’s a good move for someone in a lending role who enjoys the structuring, negotiation and execution side of debt, and wants to do that in a more dynamic, pan-European platform.
What they’re looking for
They are quite specific on profile — this needs to be someone already trained in a high-quality real estate debt environment.
- 18 months – c.3 years’ experience in real estate lending
- Currently at a bank, debt fund or established CRE lender
- Strong exposure to underwriting / structuring, not just admin or pure portfolio monitoring
- Comfortable with financial modelling, loan structures and documentation
- Someone proactive, commercially minded, and able to operate in a lean, high-performing team
Package
£65,000 base ~ 40% discretionary bonus
Full-time in the office (London)
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to double down on real estate debt, but do it in a platform where you’re closer to transactions, lenders and the full financing process.
