Our client, a prominent wealth management advisory business, seeks an experienced Senior Fund Administrator, with regulated UCITs experience, to perform a Fund Business Manager Role for a newly launched ICAV they sponsor.

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Being responsible for creating, co-ordinating and maintaining the effective operation of a governance and control framework for the fund, as well as ensuring that all the periodic tasks and responsibilities are undertaken by the relevant teams in a timely manner.
  • Being a designated point of contact for all matters relating to the ICAV, particularly co-ordinating responses to questions raised by Group functions such as Legal and Compliance, Risk and Finance, and the Head of Investments as well as third party entities such as the investment manager, ICAV Management company, depositary and ICAV Board.
  • Monitoring and reporting on service levels from third party providers to the ICAV such as the depository/custodian and Transfer Agent, the Management Company and the tax advisors.
  • Being integrally involved in co-ordinating all communications with various internal governance committees, the ICAV board of directors overseeing the ICAV and the third-party UCITS management company.

Requirements of the role:

  • 5 to 10 years of proven fund business management experience within an asset management or banking environment, as well as demonstrable project management experience.
  • A generalist skill set is sought, particularly with a broad knowledge and awareness of legal, accounting and regulatory principles impacting the asset management industry.
  • Knowledge of the UK and Irish regulatory and governance (in particular UCITs / COLL rules) around pooled funds is preferred (but not essential).
  • A broad product and asset knowledge is essential and should cover equities, fixed income, commodities and derivatives such as futures, options, swaps, total return swaps, forwards.
  • Experienced and skilled business manager with the ability and confidence to operate and communicate effectively across all levels of seniority, as well as with third party entities.
  • A self-starter with a proven experience in managing operational and governance frameworks and ensuring that designated areas within the organisation with allocated responsibility undertake their obligations on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Problem solver, with the ability to collate all relevant information, assess and analyse the situation, before calmly implementing optimal solutions and meeting time challenged deadlines.
  • Proven multi-asset product control experience, as well being able to demonstrate effective oversight and challenge with regard to portfolio composition, risk analysis and financial performance monitoring.
  • Proven experience of identifying and implementing steps designed to improve efficiency, automation and processes with respect to a fund governance and control framework.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong communication skills with an ability to prepare accurate, succinct and considered reports, which make recommendations and offer solutions which can be implemented.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and organise workflow to meet challenging deadlines and balance commercial and business needs.
  • Resilient, energetic and enthusiastic. Clear communicator, motivator and team builder.

Salary dependent on experience but up to a maximum of £100,000. Additionally, the successful candidate will be eligible for an employee benefits package, which includes a discretionary, performance-related bonus, pension, HC etc. The role is a full-time position, based in London. For the right candidate, my client will offer an employer-sponsored work permit.
