Caravel are exclusively supporting a specialist real estate lender looking to hire 2 x Senior Analysts into their London underwriting team. Operating at the larger-ticket end of the bridging and transitional lending market, the platform typically provides £5–25m facilities across a range of real estate-backed transactions. In practice, the business operates far more like a development or structured lender than a traditional short-term bridge provider — with a strong focus on underwriting quality, downside protection and transaction execution.

This is a lean, entrepreneurial team where Analysts receive genuine exposure to senior decision-makers, borrowers and live transactions from day one. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist real estate lender operating at the higher-quality end of the short-term lending market, with a strong reputation for sophisticated underwriting and larger-ticket transactions.

The Role

  • Underwriting new lending opportunities across multiple asset classes
  • Building and reviewing detailed financial models and sensitivities
  • Assessing sponsor strength, collateral quality and deal risk
  • Preparing investment papers and underwriting memoranda for credit committee
  • Working with valuers, lawyers, brokers and borrowers through execution
  • Supporting portfolio monitoring, amendments and restructurings where required
  • Ensuring transactions remain aligned with internal credit and risk frameworks

This is a high-exposure role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and operating in a fast-paced lending environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will likely have c.3+ years’ experience within:

  • Real estate lending
  • Development finance
  • Bridging finance
  • Structured/property-backed credit
  • Real estate investment analysis

You should be comfortable analysing transactions from both a credit and commercial perspective, with strong financial modelling and underwriting capability.
