Caravel are exclusively supporting a specialist real estate lender looking to hire 2 x Senior Analysts into their London underwriting team. Operating at the larger-ticket end of the bridging and transitional lending market, the platform typically provides £5–25m facilities across a range of real estate-backed transactions. In practice, the business operates far more like a development or structured lender than a traditional short-term bridge provider — with a strong focus on underwriting quality, downside protection and transaction execution. This is a lean, entrepreneurial team where Analysts receive genuine exposure to senior decision-makers, borrowers and live transactions from day one.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist real estate lender operating at the higher-quality end of the short-term lending market, with a strong reputation for sophisticated underwriting and larger-ticket transactions.

The Role

You’ll work closely with senior members of the underwriting team across the full deal lifecycle, supporting the analysis, structuring and execution of complex real estate lending transactions. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Underwriting new lending opportunities across multiple asset classes
  • Building and reviewing detailed financial models and sensitivities
  • Assessing sponsor strength, collateral quality and deal risk
  • Preparing investment papers and underwriting memoranda for credit committee
  • Working with valuers, lawyers, brokers and borrowers through execution
  • Supporting portfolio monitoring, amendments and restructurings where required
  • Ensuring transactions remain aligned with internal credit and risk frameworks

This is a high-exposure role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and operating in a fast-paced lending environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will likely have c.3+ years’ experience within:

  • Real estate lending
  • Development finance
  • Bridging finance
  • Structured/property-backed credit
  • Real estate investment analysis

You should be comfortable analysing transactions from both a credit and commercial perspective, with strong financial modelling and underwriting capability. Prior experience within bridge lending or development finance would be particularly relevant. The team are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded and able to operate effectively within a lean platform where initiative is valued highly. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position, either now or in the foreseeable future.
